I've always considered it to be John. But I'm glad to hear this isolate vocal track, because for all these years listening to the vinyl growing up, I have never heard those "wooo" vocals in the background. They make the passage even more gorgeous.

I work in the music industry. After extensive research and isolating sounds I think it's both of them together!!!! I hear Paul in the beginning then John comes in

They were actually harmonizing together, you can hear the "aaah" and the "uuuu" at the same time; I think George is also singing there

I've always thought it was John and Paul doing the background ohh's but, listening to this I'm starting to believe Paul is doing the lead while John is doing the small ohh's in the background, also in the official music video it shows Paul orchestrating with his mouth open at the ahhh part, but this belief is subject to change.
