The Matrix 4: Resurrections (2021) is the new science fiction movie starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

It bugs me that Lawrence Fishburne was not cast to reprise his role as Morpheus. Some roles you can switch out actors, but in my opinion his was an iconic role that just isn't the same without him. They try and use parlor tricks to keep the Fishburne Morpheus visible, but it's not the same.

Just a reminder, this Morpheus is not the same person as the one from the trilogy. He was programmed into a game by Neo, and is sort of meant to be a mix between OG Morpheus and Smith, which would explain why he is an agent at the start

One of the best parts of the original Matrix was Laurence Fishburne's delivery when he revealed the matrix to Neo and us, the audience.

Just like Keanu Reeves, Laurence was an integral part of the original, not having him in this movie is a huge detriment.

Remember when you got a trailer for a movie, full of mystery and thats all you got? And all the twists and turns in the movie hit you hard while watching the movie instead of seeing them in fragmented clips before you actually saw the movie? I miss that.

Remember when Neo saved Trinity by taking that "bullet" out and restarting her heart. He embedded part of his Matrix "The One" code in her, just like he did Agent Smith when he entered the Agent's body and blew him apart in the first Matrix movie. So in the 7th version of Neo in this eternal "loop" of restarting the Matrix, which Neo ended up not restarting the Matrix, but Agent Smith did by copying Neo (combining the code back to the source). The"loop" is now rewritten, and all those changes from the 6th version are now the "new loop". The ONE code is now in Neo and Trinity. Oh, the irony! Adam and Eve. it makes perfect sense In my humble opinion.

I really hope this lives up to the hype. I haven't been this excited to see a movie in years.

EDIT: (12/22/21) I just saw it. It wasn't completely bad per se. However, there were some
problems with the cinematography and the story. Finally, there was entirely too much estrogen.

I'ma be honest, huge fan of the matrix, and of course im gonna watch this one as well. But something tells me this one ain't gonna hit like the others did. 🤷‍♂️

Morpheus made it a pleasure to listen to the dialogue. Laurence Fishburne’s ability to take over a scene with minimal effort vocally gave us comfort back in the day that we was in for some shit when it was time to explain the matrix. This new dude… He aight tho but… He ain’t Fishburne.

I can't wait for this. It been a very long time for him to remake this movies again and the next chapter. I've watch all the old one. I never get bored. Because it was the best damn movies.
