C1 is the designation for the model generation, not the tune. The previous generation Vivids (imperial sized) were B1 and the model before that was A2. Your box shows the tune codes, R55 for rebound and C30 for compression.

I'd like to offer my opinion on the shock, I've ridden it for over 6 months now on my stumpjumper with cascade link.

I mostly ride enduro stuff on my over forked stumpy, bike park, and trail. I personally find this shock to be more than enough, I'll reach my limits before the shock reaches its. In the bike park I can keep up with most locals who are on enduro bikes and on DH bikes on some really rough trails that people race DH on in Ireland. This is all on a 150mm pike and 138mm rear. When you start going fast on rough stuff this shock just eats and tracks, and it's also very poppy on the jumps too, very similar to an airshock.

The hydraulic bottom out is definitely nice, I have it on max and most bottom outs from 1 meter to 1.5 in height feel very smooth. This could be due to my bike kinematics but I recon if i put this shock on a stumpy evo and cascade link, I wouldn't even know I've bottomed out.

Another bonus is over in euro this shock is very cheap in europe idk bout the rest of the world, its around 430 euros. I've ridden a fox dhx2 coil on my friends bike and it's very similar in feel, if not a little worst on the bottom outs, (keep in mind his was an enduro bike and mines only a trail)

Any plans to review zeb's 3.1 damper?

6:10 when you say "damping theory" are you saying that the shocks perform in a similar manner or that you can just adjust the coils settings to the zebb settings?

Appreciate this video I was watching the other video you did on adjusting the super deluxe coil. I just got the vivid coil and put it on my Santa Cruz heckler I have the bike in the low setting. I have never had a coil before and usually ran the super deluxe air I would always smash them full of spacers and then run 25-30% sag. I’m running the spindrex on the coil and with a 610 spring ( on spindrex)I have around 30% sag my rider weight is 210lbs. I noticed in the previous video you mentioned to make sure the hsc and lsc matched I was curious if you used the rockshox app at all and found their recommendations to be pretty accurate for rebound? Really awesome video appreciate any help thank you.

Do you know if the high speed compression dial should be able to be turned all the way around? I was able to change it from the one setting to the zero to five without going all the way around clockwise. I thought that was odd, but maybe I'm misremembering how their other shocks work

"rock shox has been using DU bushings since the forties"
Could also be said about that hateful Motion Control adult toy thing... 😂

I appreciate Your deep dives on the suspension, and there is no other content like that- it's very helpful and fun to watch:)
Can You please help me make a decission for a coil? I'm thinking between the Vivid ultimate coil tuned for my Santa Cruz Nomad, and the EXT Storia V3 which I found on sale now. The cheapiest I found them is 520e with one coil for Vivid and 830e with 2 coils for EXT, so the price difference is significant but I'm ready to pay more if is is worth it. I'm an average in terms of weight and skills but I spend most of the time on more demanding black diamond trails often in bikeparks. I'm just curious what would be Your pick😊

The touchdown tech is not in the res, its the piston and damper body

I'm confused now which one to buy. Watched your both videos about RS coils. RS SDU coil RC2T 300euros, vivid coil 400 euros, both used.

Sup Otter, I've watched several of your videos and I take your opinion seriously. I'm on the market for a coil shock for an Orbea Wild, as you mentioned on a previous video there are fitment issues on this frame. After learning from you I know I want good trail sensitivity so bladder and as much pop as possible. I'm not made out of money 🤣 so I'm looking at the first gen DVO jade or an used Ohlins TTX. What's your opinion or recommendations, thanks. Keep up the good work!
