Only TWO Of These CarPlay Devices Are Actually GREAT

Which Apple CarPlay / Android Auto device should you buy for your motorcycle? I tested three different offerings and will give you the lowdown on which one to buy. I really liked two of the three... my least favorite was the super popular Carpuride!
Find out why I didn't like it and why the Aoocci and Chigee ones are far better. The Aoocci even has a built in motorcycle dash cam. You can also save some money with the links/coupon codes below!

10% off any Chigee product with the above link

22% off any Aoocci product with coupon code: MUSTACHEMOTO

(By using the above links, you will be saving money and supporting MustacheMoto because a small commission from each sale goes back to this channel)

Thank you for this video comparison (and all of your You tube work). I just ordered the Aoocci with your discount code. I am looking forward to using it on local and long distance rides, either to complement or replace my Garmin Zumo. I like to have options and show alternative routes... so this will be great.

Hi, nice video. I have the Chigee AIO-5 BMW and the Carpuride W702BS but cannot add anything about the Aoocci. I was a BMW Nav 5 user and also have access to a BMW ConnectedRide Navigator. My Chigee is identical to yours. The Carpuride is the latest version, so fits much closer to the sat nav prep and doesn't stick out so much. The screen resolution and response is also improved. I have used the Carpuride more than the Chigee. I like both. The Chigee feels like a better quality unit and has the features you describe, which I also like. Something I find important is that the Chigee can get OTA software updates and can be powered independently via a USB C port on the underneath. The Carpuride has neither of these features. In the UK, this is called a 'faff'!! Carpuride updates are much more 'faff' because you have to contact the company, they send you a link to the software and then you put it onto an SD card and load it into the unit via the slot. When I contacted them to establish if I had the latest software/firmware they a) didn't tell me what version I should have and b) recommended that unless the unit was not operating properly that I didn't do it as they couldn't guarantee that the unit would not become a 'brick'. Hardly ideal. Putting these two features aside, I like the Carpuride. The size of the screen makes it easier to use due to my age and eyesight and I will take this unit with me in May when I go to Europe. I'm also going in June so will take the Chigee and see if the screen is OK when used over the length of a tour. I will also take the BMW nav as a backup. I'm aware that Chigee are releasing another 6 inch version soon and it will be interesting to see what that will be like, apart from having a bigger screen. I think it's fair to say that I would never use many of either units features that seem to be common nowadays but I know that many riders see these units as infotainment systems. I would recommend both units to BMW riders and I've explained why I think the Chigee is more user friendly. One last thing I'd like to say about using the wonderwheel in Carplay/AA mode: I am a My Route App user and have knowledge around how other navigation apps display in the Carplay/AA mode. I was a little disappointed to find that the wheel does not simply zoom in and out by turning it. It seems that an on-screen menu has to be entered and then selected to zoom in and out. It's not the end of the world but it is more time spent looking at it rather than the road. I'm hoping that software updates in CP/AA will rectify this. Apologies for the length of my comment. Take care.

Thanks for the video! One question though, how is this any different than having your iPhone in a powered cradle connected to the TFT and the Motorrad app? You need to hook your phone up to this device (I assume wirelessly) anyway to get the CarPlay features so now you have basically something not much larger than your phone, plus your phone that you also have to hook up to a USB so it doesn't drain the battery?

I just bought one through your link… thanks for the discount!!!…. This will hopefully be a game changer. I’ve been using a Garmin Zumo XT for 2 years and I really hate it… I’ve started using it as a backup to my phone. Garmin has “shit the bed” as far as I’m concerned. The only issue so far is the Chigee is on back order until they say late September (2024).
Thanks for the review and recommendation and I will comment here when I receive and install. Happy Trails!

I am hard core user of the Zumo XT2 and believe a dedicated GPS has its place in the moto world despite what people are saying. Hate to use my $1300 iPhone to the handlebar.

Look forward to the next iteration with a 6"+ display and more processing power. Wish BMW adopts Apple CarPlay on a mid cycle refresh. But having spoken to companies that develop moto dashboard systems, BMW just doesn't want to give up control.

Thank you for the review. As a non BMW owner I would love to know if the Chigee has other mounting options. Also, at that price it should have included cameras.
I'm definitively going to look at the Aooci. Especially because it has GPS integrated, Carpuride does not.

Blue Ridge parkway? I was wanting to mount one for my dualsport and the chigee seems to be nice and small.

apples and pears ... you are comparing the 6 inch C6 pro with HD screen for less than 250$ to the chigee 5 with 5 inch screen, no HD screen for nearly twice that price? If that C6 is as good as you say, it's the winner by miles?

Great Video. But as far as HD which one you recommend as best

great review, i have a similar unit to Aoocci but mine has a mic built in with no way to switch to headset for voice assistant on android auto.. dont suppose you did any voice tests with the Aoocci from carplay and android auto.. would be really helpful to see if it works with helmet headset and any of the voice assistant commands

Well I've taken the Plunge! It was either Carpuride 603 or Aoocci C9 to replace my Garmin Zumo XT, I have choose the C9 MAX I hope its actually a good unit! And I'm a little worried about ordering from China if it'll actually turn up here in the UK?

I bought an Aoocci 5" version and thought the video was terrible quality for 1080p, when I checked out the resolution it was in fact only 1080n which is half the pixel count of 1080p, HD 1080P is 1920 by 1080 pixels or 2.1 megapixels. 1080N on the other hand is only 1080 by 960 pixels or 1 megapixel.

A few questions. First, can I use any glove to control the screen? Second, I ride a '23 BMW GT, will the wonder wheel work with the 10.25 inch TFT? Lastly, is there a GPS built into the unit or do I have to use my phone's GPS?
