"I'm frustrated, but honestly, I'm not surprised," Gretchen Veling said. "I feel like we're raising our kids in a homophobic area, and that's just the facts."

The fact that this of all things is a news story should tell you a lot.

Pandering to the lowest common denominator is a big fail in life.

How about we let parents talk to their children about their sexuality and not pretend it's a civil rights issue to lack sexuality books in a children's library.

This mom has the freedom to feel and support whatever she wants …but public education is not about personal preferences, schools are there for teaching science no perceptions

I'm straight. But you don't see me going around demanding people praise me for it. Stop. Ok? If you're lgbt, so what? You probably are because its trendy.

They try to force you to accept it, that’s the issue

Public schools shouldn't be used to push LGBTQ, religious, or political views. Kids and their parents are free to get these books outside of public schools. Or start your own private school and teach what you like just like Religious private schools do

How about teaching children skills that will help them get ahead in life. Children don’t need to be sexualized

What a luxurious lifestyle we have in America. Instead of dealing with real problems we get to create them.

She should fire her landscaper immediately! He’s obviously spraying something in and around the lawn that’s possibly causing her kids confusion and hormonal issues. I can 100% guarantee it’s the chemicals. 👍🏻

What does the education of her child have to do with their belief? Is the student not getting education at school?

You have the right to raise your kids however you want, don’t impose your way to all other kids and parents. Kids go to school to learn and they must feel safe as well. You as a parent shall be doing the guidance and teaching them to be emotionally intelligent. Buy the books online and read them with your kids!

The luxury we have in America is the freedom to choose. You want those books? You can order them anywhere and read them in your home. They don't have to be in the schools if they don't want them. You have the freedom to homeschool or move to a different state where it's welcomed. There are parents that don't want them in the schools. So read them in your home, start your own homeschool club which there's some because they didn't agree with what was in the school. Or move. People in Keller are not poor people. They are above middle class.

forcing homosexuality on our children is child abuse

Just read those books at home, like the Bible is read at church. This is school, where books should be about math, english, science, history, phys ed, etc.

I never saw a Christian book or bible in any school I ever went to but I didn't through a fit and cry about it and I'm a Christian.

The media couldn't be any more clueless as to what matters to people right now. This proves it.

That poor woman. Now she'll have to go through the hassle of ordering those books online and having them shipped right to her door... she must be devastated
