Ugh this show was so incredible. I love that in the end Borgov wasn't some big villain. He felt almost like the father figure she never had; disappointed in her when she didn't live up to her promise the last two times they met and, it seems, proud of her when she finally rose to her true potential.

Other random little thing I loved is that they play with such an old school chess set. Wood-carved with the king wearing not a traditional crown but just having that teardrop-shaped crest to distinguish it from the otherwise identical queen. Idk if that's really how traditional Russian sets look but given the level of authenticity in this show I suspect it is.

The sad part is, she probably wouldn’t have made it there if her mom (2nd) had still lived. She loved her but was a terrible influence and enabler.
