These people are refugees, but they're not running from war or an oppressive government; they're seeking asylum from climate change.

This is an awesome and really informative video. You never hear about how climate change affects nations like this, It's a good example of why we should do something about the environment and why we should've done something a long time ago.

I was not familiar with the place but when they show the map it comes up in my mind right away that this area is where usually the low pressure area starts and become a typhoon heading to southeast asia. Specially on rainy season that starts on june to january, 5 typhoons in within 1 month. Which become normal to the locals.

Ever wonder why there are large rocks or cement blocks set up around ports? To prevent the advance of natural erosion on the coast.

These Islands merely need engineers and money. Look up "Beach nourishment".

We still wear tshirts and shorts when usually I can't even go out. It hasn't rained in ages too, i remember when we had summer rain. I've never thought about climate change much but this year it got pretty scary

Hi There,

I tired your email but received an error message from the mail server regarding your address.

I'm a paramedic in Vancouver BC and I'm currently composing a video to support 5 resolutions that I've submitted to the paramedic union of bc paramedics. The resolutions are to have the employer, BCEHS, adopt more electric vehicle friendly policies such as EV parking for staff, and an e-ambulance trial. With you permission I'd like to use some of the footage from your youtube to illustrate how the climate crisis is creating climate refugees. I just need 30 seconds or less footage of climate refugees, video only, no audio.

I should be able to skim what I need from youtube.

Thanks,
David

We are an elementary school teachers' group in Yongin City, South Korea.
We want to educate children about the seriousness of the climate and environmental problems.
Can we use some of your videos to make educataional contents?
It's only for kids' video classes, not for commercial use.
We are looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

While the greenhouse effect is undoubtedly increasing the rate of climate change; keep in mind, entire cities have been rendered uninhabitable due to climate change throughout the history of humanity. There are many examples of aquifers drying up and regions which were once oasis becoming deserts. The broad claim that these are the very first climate refugees only holds true if you can argue the semantics of modern refugees. Still, this was an excellent peak at whats to come for many nations if carbon emissions are not checked.
