How To Make Thermite Out Of Pennies

I don't know why you'd want to make thermite out of pennies but if you're ever bored or feeling adventurous... now you can! Pennies made before 1981 are made out of copper and when copper is heated up, it oxidizes. Once you have a metal oxide, you can usually make thermite with it. In this particular video I mixed the copper oxide from the pipes and pennies with aluminum powder and boom, thermite!

All 1981 and most 1982 pennies are copper also..

A copper penny will weigh about 3.1 grams while a zinc penny will weigh around 2.5 grams
