Does your car have the Eco Button? My 2012 Civic does and when it is off I get around 28 mpg in town while on I am getting 34 and that is with the AC running. Been in the hundreds here where I live. My only problem is the AC itself isn't very cold considering it is a new car. I have just under 6, 000 miles on it now.

I like the fact that it hasn't changed much. I just bought a used 2012, will take delivery in two days.
I like the fact that everything is proven and tried. Conservative? No. Cautious? That's me.

i have a 2012 civic
i don't get 28 miles/g as they say. I get about 24-25 miles on an average, after my first service. when i asked my dealer, he told me to reduce the AC. i get 28 if i don't use my Air condition at all. also had trouble with my tires many times.

2012 owners comments please?

I fully agree with the grille issue... It's the only part of the sedan that I really dislike. Great review!

Purchasing a vehicle based on looks is ridiculous. The Civic has some of the lowest True Cost To Own #s of all compacts...and even most subcompacts! That's due to low maitenance costs, high resale value, etc. It doesn't get an EPA 40 mpg, but in real world tests it's one of the highest rated compact vehicles (higher than Elantra and Focus!). The engine/transmission is bulletproof.

lot of people compare hyundai elantra and honda civic here on youtube.. try to drive them both like what i did, i noticed hyundai is only a bit roomier but when it comes to quality of materials like dashboard etc, civic tops elantra, and for the driving experience, honda feels more responsive in steering, visibility is better, except the jerky or jittery ride maybe because of the traction control, vtec i dont know exactly.. overall honda is better

The selling price of this car in Australia is about $2, 4000 for basic model. Now every car in Australia cost more than the US...

The new Civic's outside may be a bit more on the stodgy side but the interior has the most beautiful layout and best eye appeal of any car in its class. The seats and steering wheel are also the most comfortable in its class. Since the interior is where you live your day to day life, I an able to forgive and look over the less sporty exterior appointments. I just love the comfort and feel of the overall ride and the great gas mileage coupled with Hondas notorious quality and reliability!

err you forgot about the Si which offers only a 6spd manual not just the base. and it's also the most expensive trim level. Hybrid actually might be?

I'll admit, I'm a HUGE Honda fan... I'm in love with my 2011 Civic LX. But I absolutely hate what they did to the 2012 Civic. It's actually very upsetting...

@TheBoogie24seven ya it is a good looking car in person and the interior is good. the one i sat in the interior matterials felt more expensive and solid than other cars ive been in ie the corolla camry a 2003 taurus and to me i like the interior better than the cruz and focus and you want a gutless car get a sentra.
