Variegated fig wasps

These are Hyperparasitoids (Pteromalidae) of fig wasps (Agoanidae) found in a ripening fig in Cairns, QLD. Taped October 5th, 2016. This was the perfect time to open the fig, soon all of these wasps would have left through tiny openings in the fig, to go lay their eggs elsewhere. The fig would then be empty and fine for eating.
