Edelbrock 1407 Rebuild!!!

In this episode, I rebuild an Edelbrock 1407 carburetor. The same process works for the 1406 and 1405 carburetors as well. This is for the AMC 360 engine I am rebuilding for the Big Chief, my 1979 Jeep Cherokee.

It took 7 months to break down, prep and paint my car. 1969 AMC AMX GO PACK 390. The gas went bad. Had to clean and rebuild my new 750 double pumper, fuel pump. What a pain. Found a guy in clearwater to rebuild it. Been doing that for years. Cost 125 bucks and it as done perfect. You are brave brother. Neal

Any updates on how this runs? I saw how you adjusted the float bowls without the gasket (using the gasket gives you a more precise measurement that thickness could be up to a 1/16 thick) and the 7/16 bit in the middle of the float rather than the leading edge of the float. Also you adjusted it and never measured float drop after adjusting the height. I'm curious as to if you're having trouble with it flooding or starvation of fuel. Lastly you didn't set the gap between primary and secondary butterflies. But other than that good job on the rebuild thanks for posting it's been a while since I rebuilt one and I needed a refresher good stuff man. 🤟
