Thanks for the instruction dude!! Now those of you who ran into the boot loop issue... DONT forget to clear system caches!! To do that Press Power+Home+Vol_up button simultaneously, then select "wipe cache partition" form the recovery screen.

I know I'm about 5 years late, but i ran into the problem FAIL - "custom binary (recovery) blocked by fap lock". So what I did was restart the phone once I got that error code. I went back into settings and in the "Developer options" menu, toggled the switch next to the "OEM unlocking" entry to enable it. Then I turned phone off again and repeated the process in this video, and everything went smoothly. Of course **do at your own risk**, this just worked for me. I'm just playing around with an old phone which is garbage to me anyway.

guys i doubted kingroot but it actually worked for me on my galaxy s7 and for all the people hating on this guy he is doing the right thing just you could have missed a step also before you do root make sure to write down all device info so if something goes bad you can download the right firmware and restart your device and get your stuff back.
