How long does cataract surgery recovery take?

You may be surprised how good you feel even after just one day following cataract surgery. It has not been unknown for patients to even drive the day of their cataract surgery, although, that is not something I would normally advise. Don’t be alarmed if on the first day after your cataract operation your vision is still cloudy, hazy, or even a little distorted.

Had cataract surgery on Tuesday. Wednesday felt great. Vision amazingly clear. Thursday very tired, bruising, swelling. Friday everything felt great, bruising fading, swelling gone. Slight irritation. Absolutely no pain. If your eyesight is deteriorating, my recommendation, without any hesitation, is do it. Do it as soon as you can.
Totally agree that the doctor in this video has such a wonderful demeanor and professional approach.

I had cataract surgery yesterday, today, at post operation follow up. I had gone from 20/400 in my right eye to 20/30. How wonderful to be able to see again. I have a wonderful young doctor who did a fantastic job. Even they were amazed at how well I could see. No pain, just the first day a halo around the lights. Today, I could read the road signs, read a recipe etc. I lost my job because-because I could not pass an eye exam, now the doctor told me "NO PROBLEM"

Two weeks and six days from having my right eye done and then my left I now am far sighted. Had been nearsighted for nearly fifty years. But just need over the counter Reading glasses which is much better then going slowly blind. The transition to me is no big deal as I was told by my surgeon the effects to expect and what choices of lens I would prefer after his in depth description of what can be done at the time of surgery.

Yes, what you refer to a "glimmer" others like myself call flickering. My ophthalmologist explained that this post operative condition remains until the eye and the new lens have sealed sufficiently. I'll just have to be patient since it's a month since the surgery and I like many others do have this.

I had cataract surgery 9 days ago on my right eye with mono focal lens. I have been experiencing dizziness which the ophthalmologist couldn’t explained why because the degree between the two eyes is not great to cause dizziness. Won’t be needing surgery on the other eye any sooner

Can’t find help for pain. No one warned me. I’m meticulous about following instructions yet my vision is blurry, light too painful. I’m frightened as I already suffer with chronic pain

The day after my surgery I got a floater stuck in the focal area. How much bad luck can you have? So, no great vision for me yet. It is going to be removed by Yag in about 2 months time. Not sure I 'll be wanting the second eye done in two weeks time. That is my good eye and now the only one that gives me good vision.

3 months. Don't expect your eyes to settle down until 3 months post-op. Patience.
