Rare Burl Turned into One Of A Kind Table

Показать описание
I turn this beautiful Elm burl and sculpt some figured oak to marry the burl and oak together into a desk/table top, and then throw in some epoxy resin.

You’ll learn from my mistakes, and boy did I make a load! I normally only use resin for filling knots in my furniture.

Hello my friend,
Your tree choices are great. A beautiful design for the desktop office establishment. Using resin also created a decorative image. very good job. Congratulations. See you. Greetings.

I too grow an inch just looking at it. LOL. The dry British humor kills me. Great video! Showing the mistakes is a great teaching moment for all. In the end, it was all worth it. Just beautiful!!

That is a stunning piece of work. If the desk was mine I wouldn't be able to face putting anything on it.

Absolutely beautiful burl pattern, I was a little surprised that you didn't blend the back side of the epoxy channel with the same scallop as the side panels but it turned out very nice.

Those are some great looking choices for material. The burl is definitely a showstopper. Looks like a lot of work went into that finish. I loved the video. Always entertaining to watch. Great production👍

Nothing like a bit of brad point drill rasp reaming in the morning... I liked the mirroring of the burl shape, would have looked odd with a square surrounds. This thing must weigh a ton!

fair play, I wouldn't even dream of trying to work on a project of that size. I reckon I could get 4 guitar tops out of that burl though :P

15:35 West Ham... or Michael Jackson. I need that router! Changing the base plates or bits is such a pain in the arse! I usually trap my fingers trying to untighten the previous bits. Anyway, that desktop took you to hell and back but was well worth it!

I just finished watching this video, it's the first one of yours that I've seen. I've watched a lot of resin table and wood craft videos but I rarely comment. I HAVE to comment. I love your video for multiple reasons, your work is impeccable and beautiful. When you were planing I was thinking about how much I love that sound. When you mentioned metal work I immediately thought about how I hate that taste :) But beyond all that... your editing. Oh my goodness. Your editing is a thing of beauty. It's perfection. I kept getting distracted and commenting on it. It's an amazing desk, gorgeous grain I could stare at all day but your editing is the chef's kiss. I look forward to watching more.
