With the rise in income ETFs another one has separated itself from the pack. With 10 months of consistent dividend payouts of about $0.33 per payout SVOL is looking like a decent 14% - 18% dividend yielding ETF. Does these ETF dethrone QYLD? SVOL vs QYLD

A couple of days ago, I went to open a small position in SVOL. Schwab then sent me a fairly long warning and agreement that I had to sign to continue. I read the warning, and in a nutshell, they said that the complex way that SVOL makes money, should not be an investment that is more than overnight! And they do not recommend making such investments longer than that. I canceled and did not proceed with the order. I'd love to hear someone *knowledgeable* speak to this issue...

If you are calculating a -5% growth rate in these ETFs and you factor in another 3% for inflation then that means that your 15% yield really boils down to 7% in actual spending more money if you want to maintain that sort of lifestyle in perpetuity. It would be nice if you had talked about inflation along with these yields

SVOL has low volume...does that give anyone else cause for concern?

QYLD share price doesn't go up during a bull market.
SVOL has only existed in a bear market.
SVOL may not have the track record of QYLD but QYLD is verifiable sinking ship.
Sold all my QYLD a few months ago and replaced with SVOL.
I only have 8 etfs in my portfolio with each one an equal weight so QYLD was and now SVOL is about 12.5% of my portfolio.

Each month I add money to the worst performing etf to bring them in line with the others

SVOL and TLTW are my div monsters. I also have JEPI, JEPQ and BSTZ to make my house payment. I will add SCHD, DIVO, VTI and QQQ for the growth part as I slowly sell off Tesla stock, which is the best stock on earth!

Comparison videos, such as yours are invaluable. Realistic analysis and projections are crucial for any investor. I didn't know much about SVOL. I have a modest position in QYLD. Keeping it around 3%. Its negative growth rate (currently much higher than 5%) has me very concerned. I'm using DIVO and JEPI as my portfolio

Could you see svol as like a downside/volatility protected spy/Spxl but unlike qyld, you are not caped to the gains you can make in a extended bull market? Seems like a good buy when vix spikes and hold. Am I wrong?

A few people over at Yahoo Finance are not happy with their 34 cent dividend for SVOL. :)

Can you please say the amount out loud and the shares. A lot of people like me listen more like a podcast. We are not looking at the phone or computer.

If you look at a comparison chart for SVOL and the VIX you can see that when the VIX is very low for a while (Around 15) like it was when this fund started, the stock price barely moved higher, but once the VIX spiked to around 30, the stock price drops a lot. If the stock price rose up when the VIX is low, at the same degree as it drops when the VIX is high, then I can see this stock being a worthwhile investment, but as is, and as already seen with the price history over the last year its a wasting asset, whereas QYLD will increase in value when the Nasdaq 100 recovers.

I’ll pass they haven’t been on the board long enough to show any real progress

It seems a very risky ETF. The methodology it uses is complicated.

Am I confused? You are comparing a S&P500 short term index (SVOL) to a NASDAQ 100 based fund (QYLD)??? It's not even close, not even near to being apples-to-apples. Global X's XYLD ETF is a S&P500 index you should be using. Hello, you want to compare S&P500 related index's to each other, not the NASDAQ to a S&P500. Viewer's, disregard this video.
As it turns out, Gloabl X's XYLD has almost the same capital performance as SVOL (within 1% over life of the newer SVOL), when you compare apples-to-apples except SVOL does have a higher dividend.
