How do you write a pause in English? Punctuation is challenging enough for most people, but correctly punctuating a pause is one of trickiest things in English writing. We can use a semicolon (;), a colon (:), a dash (—), a comma (,), and ellipsis (...), and a period (.). In this lesson, you'll find out how to use which one when! 😃

i just use the ellipses when i want to pause. it seems to work just fine. it also spaces out sentences pretty well and makes a paragraph easier on the eyes to read.
