Even with 25000 KW output power we were stuck in the ice, finally just managed to escape. In general, in the nautical world, it is known that it getting more and more difficult the last years to supply the Antarctic research stations by ship.

At 5:55 They sure picked the place where the Best ice breakers in the world are, if they need one. I would not get on a regular ship that is going to plow through ice. That bends and breaks the front ribs and puts holes in the hull. Icebreakers have ribs with only few cm between each up front, and have heavily armored front hull. Plus they do not even plow through the ice, they ride over it and crush it.

Thanks for making this video. I was following the progress of the ship of fools and was amazed at how quickly it wrapped up after they got stuck by ice day after day. I suspected they had help from an icebreaker but even if they didn't as the cycles show- they proved nothing about warming.

I saw the ship on the ABC news? they did show the icebreaker but they also showed passengers in canoes? they then interviewed a professional passenger? who said this proves all deniers are wrong? they ended the report saying environmentalist are discouraging cruse ships to repeat this event as it could create warming? WTF. what I got from this story! is that people in canoes, means the ship wasn't going anywhere! until they found a route through the ice? using the helicopters! and the icebreaker!
