I upgraded my pro to 1tb ssd (crucial mx500; $140) today and tested Farcry 5 for comparison. On hdd it loaded from main menu to start of game in 55s, with ssd it reduced to 20s. What an improvement!!!

I don’t have any problem with loading time no matter how long it takes. But I’m really into upgrading my ps4 pro so that I can get rid of the menu lag

I feel like the upgrade isn't really worth it. With computers the difference is much more significant. It's better to wait for the next generation of consoles.

I think you would see the real performance of SSD if the CPU in ps4 was faster. I think the CPU is the real reason to not see how big difference SSD can do. It would be even better than what we saw in the video. This is my opinion.

Definitely seems like your HDD is running slower than it's supposed to, but even a 20 or 30% decrease in load times would be worth it for me. I hate that shit.

My PS4 takes only 1:08 sec. to boot up RDR2 in stock HDD so I don’t know what is up with yours taking over 2 minutes.

The main thing I noticed since upgrading mine was the load time for the PS4 in game menu and the texture load time in rdr2 which was non existent

Two more benefits of installing an ssd into a Pro is no airplane fans coming on! And the second is online play is way better with less lag.

I think ps4 has slow SATA port, SATA2.
