Learn How To SAIL!

A guided tour of my sail boat (Cherry 16 trailer sailer) and an overview of some of the skills and science behind one of the earliest forms of transport - sailing! This video includes:
- Raising the mast, including the forestay and sidestays
- The different types of ropes (main sheet, jib sheet, painter, main halyard and jib halyard)
- Raising the sails
- Steering using a tiller and rudder
- Sailing downwind
- Tacking and the role of the centreboard/keel
- Adjusting the jib
- Different types of cleats
- Controlling speed while tacking
Also making an appearance towards the end is a rare steam-powered boat!
