Hi... I'm reading John Wray's "South Sea Vagabonds", first published in 1939 and how he built his first sailboat himself in the early 1930s (he was only 21 at the time).
Anyway, I'm 73 and am enjoyong his book, though I'm always looking up words as I know nothing of sailing. Wray mentioned coming out of his first storm and he and his crew being careful not to let their boat gybe, and so I had to look it up here in YouTube. Your video was the first to come up. Great explanation.

I feel these videos are excellent since there is no BS. no long winded speeches and I like how they are broken down into specific sailing jobs. cant wait to feel the wind take the boat for the first time. never been sailing. I am trying to learn by watching. I feel the more I understand the fundamentals the easer and less scary it will be when it comes time.

When I have very strong winds I rather do a Tack instead of Jibe. Much safer and also much faster for the inexperienced crew
