Ottawa’s mayor has declared a state of emergency in the face of ongoing protests clogging streets and causing chaos in the core of Canada’s capital. Caryn Ceolin with the growing frustration over the local response, as leaders pass the buck.

I am very sorry that the citizens of Ottawa have been so inconvenienced primarily due to this freedom protest happening at the capital. Yes that might be your city and it is because it has been named the capital of Canada, as residents you have all benefited greatly from that privilege in better times, however; with the good also comes the bad which is one of the downsides to residing in Canada's capital. This is where the fight was started so it only makes sense to take our grievances directly to the source does it not? Support the effort at hand and perhaps it will end that much sooner. If not, perhaps try some ear plugs or go on a vacation. This battle is far too important to back down now and in fact this is only a sign of things to come if government does not change their ways radically and drastically. We the people can no longer allow a select few dictate what the many have to do. That is not the role of government and trying to have the police strong arm us into complying is certainly not the right thing to do in a supposed democratic country. This is exactly why this is happening in the first place but the government does not seem to care at all about those who oppose their tyrannical ways. The police are being forced to put themselves on the wrong side of this dispute and there are just enough ego freaks among them to cause real harm and chaos if they choose to do so.
