Ive always been a fan of both Hal Jordan and John Stewart, so when this got announced I was hyped and now with even more information about it Im SUPER excited.

For me this is their chance to really start mixing it up with the tones. Gunn said each project will feel very distinct depending on what the story calls for and if Lanterns really feels like True Detective while Superman is a more hopeful and bright adventure, that'll be a great litmus test for how they intend to treat the whole universe project to project

My theory?

It is the Manhunters.

*explanation*
- Superman will have 2 after credit scenes: The first with Clark talking to Kara about adapting on Earth, the second with Guy Gardner running into a returning Hal Jordan, who tells Guy he is being called back to Oa(in regard to his abusing his GL powers accepting sponsorships). Hal and John have been sent back to Earth due to a possible homicide via an extraterrestrial.
- Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow will explain how Brainiac destroyed Krypton
- In Lanterns, we learn that the waking of an ancient Manhunter leads to its need to exterminate all life. At the end, they finally destroy the Manhunter threat, but the signals of the Manhunters have already been detected by Braniac's ship.

That is how it will tie in. And Braniac will be the big bad of Justice League. He may even scour the cosmos, searching for other defective Manhunters and using them as a make-shift army that he will link to his brain like a hivemind.

To me it makes sense to anticipate this one so much more since we haven’t had a live action lantern project in over 10 years just cuz of that one movie

Trevante Rhodes for John Stewart! He has the look, the physicality, the charm, the military vibe, the acting chops and his age is perfect 🔥 he also fits the True Detective vibe they're going for

Hal Jordan is my favorite dc character so I am so stoked for this show

I would say another hallmark of the True Detective series is a fraught relationship between the detectives. They have almost as many problems with each other as they do the criminals. That will be fun to see play out with the veteran/rookie angle.

I NEED this show to be good!
I swear with true passion, time & love put into this series and hopefully if the show ends up being a successful hit than Green Lantern has the potential to become DC's answer to Star Wars. There are so many incredible stories, characters, & fascinating lore to pull from for a whole saga of GL films.
I've even written down my own storyboard pitch idea for what a Green Lantern film saga set in the DCU could look like.

Green Lantern has potential to be a Franchise on its own. Too bad no one has taken up that challenge yet. Hope this might change things.

Kyle Rayner is one of the most relatable dc character for me, I really hope they have him as the mainline GL for solo movies while Hal is the primary mc of the show and John&Guy are team members

The Centre is 100% the big bad of this chapter of the DCU, the whole ancient horror vibe fits perfectly, that or the bad guy of the series is gonna be Parallax and there’s some unreliable narrator stuff with the big twist is that Hal is the murderer and has been possessed by Parallax for a while.

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan specifically) is my all times favorite superhero, and I have always wanted a successful Movie/TV series featuring the Lantern Corps. So I am hyped for this. I like John Stewart too, he was the first Green Lantern I was intrudiced to, but I just like Hal better.
I hope we also get to explore the other Lantern Corps as well.
