Great! I'd like to see it operating with another DMR radio. Someone on that forum thread Dominic linked to said they couldn't get it to talk to their Motorola DMR radio so it would be interesting to see if your one does. I would guess you probably have the new firmware so it would. Also would be good to see how the text messaging works, as you didn't go into the menu in this video. Whether it works with the motorola standard or the DMR standard of text messaging.

Thanks for posting. I am waiting for the TIER 2 firmware upgrade to arrive before I take the plunge and purchase. The firmware menus looks very similar to the analog UV5x series. Have you tried to program it through CHIRP yet (at least the analog side)?

I really like the fact that its the same as the UV5R as a lot of people will already know the menus etc. If it aint broke then dont fix it.

Those that have done the tier 2 update say it is useless, the radio still has no TDMA for real tier 2 operation and it occupies both time slots at the same time with continuous transmission. Don't waste your money on this radio!

avoid avoid avoid...i hear it only tier1 and is seriosly screwing up dmr tier2 systems on ham networks..if you want to upset local dmr repeaters users and get barred..buy one...get a md380 or md 390 radio
