*To all the commenters on the money who want this rover cancelled* The Perseverance program was funded to JPL 8 years ago and nearly all the resources were spent years before our current situation. This machine contains a suite of cutting edge scientific equipment with humanity's first extraterrestrial drone powered a miniature nuclear reactor for about the same cost as a single fighter jet. America can easily do great things when you have consistent competent leadership that respects its scientist and engineers.

Not how long, but how well you have lived is the main thing.

15 feet off the ground? Why not just mount a camera on a retractable selfie stick?

Fantastic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hopefully they find what we always suspected. There was life and maybe still is life there.
Pity it takes so long.
Hope I’ll be alive to see the first signs of life out there and the amount maybe massive

Are some folks against this mission in fear that it will ultimately expose religion as man-made when proof of life is found on other planets?

It's been 70 to 80 years and yet still using chemical propellants to break free of earth's gravity. Why is that? Wheres the super duper warp quantum drive?

Why go to Mars, just go to the desert in California, it's the same thing.

How does one consciously go from starving children needing food in the billions of dollars to a story about landing on mars which most likely costs billions of dollars. This society is so screwed.
