As a Brazilian, seeing brushing teeth in a "strangest habits" list is....concerning

As an Indian who lives in Karnataka, I have never even heard of this tradition💀

Lol for the Spanish one, it’s a tradition that also helps clean the streets. Not when there is tomato on them obviously but when the tomato is gone the acid stuff in the tomato has cleaned the streets off

“Why are tomatoes so expensive?”
Spain: uhhh

The Denmark cinnamon/pepper thing is due to the saying “pebermø”, which literally means being a spinster. Anyone who is single over the age of 30 would be spinster or pebermø, so it’s become more of an incentive for people to get married before the age of 30 (pepper) and 25 (cinnamon)

From personal experience I can tell you that being doused in cinnamon really, really burns. They usually put oil or water on you before hand to make it stick more. It absolutely sucks. I got smacked with 15 kg (33 lbs).

As a Brazilian, it's not even about hygiene in the workplace in particular, just hygiene in general.
We have toothbrush cases to take them in our backpacks so we can brush our teeth after meals at work or school. That way we can avoid caries.
We also shower often. Minimum once a day, often time multiple times a day, even during winter.
We care a lot about personal hygiene; and FYI from our perspective, y'all are the weird ones for not caring.
