From planting trees in frozen water in Siberia to predicting the future with molten tin in Finland, these are 10 strangest New Year’s traditions from around the world.

If you’ve ever been to a Greek wedding, you’ve probably seen a plate or two being smashed. But, if you make your way to Denmark on New Year’s day, you will see smashed ceramics by front doors for completely different reasons. Want to know why? Well, you’ll have to watch the video to see.

Another country that has a bizarre way of celebrating the new year is Estonia. In this country, people choose to gorge themselves with food. We will also show you what they do in cemeteries in Chile, What they eat at midnight in Spain, What they hit against the wall in Ireland, and much more. As a Spaniard that has gobbled many a new year grape, the key is to buy tiny grapes. For the love of God don’t look at anyone while doing it or they may laugh shooting a grape right into your eye😂 feliz año nuevo errrbody!

Eating 12 grapes is not only a thing in Spain. Here in Venezuela we do the exact same thing. But we supposed to eat it on the last 12 seconds of the year. Also we have peculiar traditions like we wear yellow underwear on new year's Eve to bring us luck the next year.. also we stand in a chair to receive new year if you want a boyfriend or girlfriend for the next year.. also we enjoy running around our neighborhood with a suitcase or bags, that's a tradition we take if we want to travel a lot the next year.. and last but not least we burn the "Año viejo" on Christmas eve..we build some kind of mannequin of an important public figure that's really hated and we burn it after midnight.... Also we celebrate baby Jesus birth and new year by lightning fires in the sky like American s do on 4th of July.. I love our nonsense traditions. ❤❤❤ Happy new year everyone!
