"LRS" stands for Long Range System and basically it refers to 433mhz radio control system. Because 433 mhz has a much longer wavelength than 2.4ghz, it is used for long range radio control. In this video, I "LRS" my 180-size Diatone ET quadcopter, this mod will work on a 150-size quad if you solder all the wires directly to the LRS receiver to keep everything as compact as possible. Also, there are smaller 433mhz antenna you could use. I am using a trimmed 18awg copper wire as a monopole, its specific length is determined by using my low cost antenna analyzer shown in my other video.
The LRS system here is the cheap Orange Open-LRS transmitter module and receiver pair from Hobby King.

I'd swear you can set up the olrsng receiver for directly output ppm or sbus. I use Hawkeye ones and it can definitely be done, that way you don't need the ppm converter. Nice project!
