Hey! Ignite has a lot more value than you might think. You can anti-snowball the enemy carry by making them have to spend more gold on regen during the laning phase. The impact is practically invisible to most and that is part of why it is so powerful. You can reduce the enemy core's gpm by such a significant amount especially if they don't understand why it is happening. This is not as effective against heroes who are already planning on building a lot of regen items, or if they have a sustained healing support (warlock).
The main reason this works is not because of the math so much but because of the psychology behind it. You can mathematically get more damage from your stun and bloodlust in most cases but no games ever work out like they do on paper. You must do something unexpected. Rotate your power-spikes, bend the rules and have a little fun with what other people don't know your hero is capable of.

Such a great hero, interesting to build up fireblast early game, i'll have to give this a try. Majority of my early game assists/kills are with the slow and damage from ignite which I find super helpful as well as you can still hit multiple hero's with it without having multicast (if your lucky or no creeps in sight)

At 10:19, you can place that ward a little bit higher so you can’t block the camp. I watched notail doing that stuff.

When I play Ogre Magi as pos 4, I would build phase boots, soul ring, wand as a starting items and tank for everyone. It's a fun build because the enemy carries would try to kill you first but your team would annahilate them.

Correction, he skills fireblast because there is a Mirana in the lane and they want to combine the stuns. Ignite with an OOV is objectively better for trading at level 1 in MOST lanes.
Skilling, W, Q, W, Q, Q, R, Q, E, E, castrange, E, R, E, W, W is the skill build.
