that's way cool idea. I never knew x-10 had a rs232 / serial dongle. I bet a few people are gonna go dig up their old x-10 stuff now. that Alexa rig is way cool.
This is the sort of systems that could really help mobility impaired.

Didn't realise X-10 was so old, I still use it. I have a Raspberry Pi with a USB to Serial adapter to control it, with a nice modern web app I wrote for the front-end. I guess I'll replace it with something more modern when it finally breaks :-)

Very interesting, would very much like to see the code. A little lost on how the series connector controls everything?

the only downside of implementing Alexa on Chip is that is doesn't support (yet) hotword detection so you need to use a button instead.
