The Philippines said on Tuesday that the China Coast Guard fired water cannons at two of its vessels, causing damage to one of them, during a patrol near the hotly contested Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea.

"This damage serves as evidence of the forceful water pressure used by the China Coast Guard in their harassment of the Philippine vessels," Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Jay Tarriela said in a statement. "They were not deterred and will persist in carrying out their legitimate operations to support Filipino fishermen and ensure their safety."

The China Coast Guard said the "vessels" had been expelled for waters close to Huangyan Island, which is China's term for the Scarsborough Shoal.

One of the vessels belonged to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the other was from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

It's sad to see that one of the oldest civilization on earth is acting like barbarians in someone else's waters.

Chinese ships have also entered the philippines' eastern seaboard illegally, dropping unkown equipment into the water. That space isnt even a contested territory, it is part of the phil sovereign territory. China should be declared a rogue nation

Filipinos should thank the Chinese coast guard for helping them clean their ships for free, instead of complaining here😂😂

CORRECTION: IT IS WITHIN PHILIPPINE EEZ, THUS THE PHILS. HAS "SOVEREIGN RIGHTS" OVER THAT AREA....
Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)
Within this zone, the coastal State may exercise sovereign rights over exploration, exploitation, conservation, and management of natural resources and other economic activities, such as the production of wind or tidal power.

What you see is only what others want you to see, but you never fairly state the cause. Why do journalists dare to follow official ships in the South China Sea to shoot? Why don't you dare to follow a merchant ship to shoot in the Red Sea? I think the Falkland Islands belong to Argentina! Because he is closest to Argentina!😂😂
