Demon’s Souls is the EASIEST Souls Game

It's time to "get good." Demon's Souls was once a niche favorite on the PlayStation 3 and now it's a flagship launch title for the PS5 with a Demon's Souls remaster! I've learned in retrospect that it is the easiest of the Soulsborne games but that doesn't mean it isn't hard. But what may also be the hardest thing about the game is it's name; Demon Souls vs Demon's Souls.

Honestly the hardest part of this game is getting a PS5

Whenever a game is really hard there is someone who makes a video of how easy they found it. I’ve seen “it’s just so easy” videos on Sekiro, Dark Souls and Bloodbourne. Personally I found Demon Souls to be very difficult compared to Dark Souls and Bloodbourne. Remember folks, if you found it really tough, it doesn’t mean you suck, or other people are just better than you, it just means everyone is different and some things come more easily to some people than others.

Random weird nitpick: Phalanx in the original looked better if you didn't have your footage turned down way dark.
Never trust a games "make sure you can't see this thing" gamma setting, it usually fucks up your ability to see rather than balancing the light properly.

Maiden Astrea theme still gives me chills. God it's so good. Cannot wait to get my hands on a PS5 and this game.

I've beaten all the other souls games except bloodborne, but this game has still been really difficult for me. The biggest problem for me is the finite heals. I'm too stubborn to farm for grass so I went through the entirety of 3-1 without any heals. The bosses have been pretty easy so far, but the actual levels are really tough, mainly due to their length.

The world wasn't ready for Dark Souls when Demon's Souls came out.

Whoever said long loading times are "part of the game" should seriously rethink their life. Nobody has time to wait these days. Awesome video as always! Love your take on the remake.

I think it's not really easier than other Souls games, it's just the first and purest example of the design philosophy. Because of that, it is also the cleanest in design. The methods for mastering individual enemies and bosses are clearer. Character building and combinations of items, weapons, and magic is the least obtuse and vague. Later games strove to add more depth by expanding the scope and increasing complexity - more combinations of stats, items, and magic. Enemies with more tricks and larger move sets.

The level oriented structure of DeS also plays a factor. Every world has a part 1 section that is open and easy to explore, and there's five of them. That gives the player a ton of places to go and grind early soul levels. It also rewards the player with a TON of upgrade materials immediately if they hop around all five stage ones and clean them out before moving on.

This game is only the hardest if you play backwards in the series, as my first souls game this game was extremely hard.. Since we were used to hand holding at the time.. I'd say its as easy as Elden Ring if you're using all the tools at your disposal. Its just better designed than Elden Ring. Instead of throwing 1000 items at you from exploring, the items you get are what you should be using on the next boss.. Such as fire/magic dmg

I was intimidated by Demon's Souls when I played it on PS3. I did well, but then started running into bugs. Levels wouldn't load all the way and I'd be walking around with no floor beneath me and it would eventually load. I died at one point and it sent me back to the beginning of the game...and I was just a floating head. As soon as it let me take control I died. Basically it wiped my save. My save got wiped a couple times and I stopped playing it.

I've always said that your hardest dark souls is your first. It is learning a whole new language from scratch. But once you have on regional variant of the language down, the others become easier to parse. Not flawless since they all have their different quirks, but easier than head first with absolutely no knowledge.
