"his family didn't want to cause division". THIS is the exact thing that causes the division. Disrespect, disregard, and dishonor of the dead and their resting places, their memorials, and their history.

We'll make sure nothing is disturbed as we disturb his final resting place.

I'm so sick of Politically incorrect morons tearing down our monuments and disturbing the graves of our heroes We need our history to not only teach us about our past but to prevent us from repeating the same mistakes again

That is just sick. Now we are going to unearth graves because things were different years ago.

If history upsets some of us, let's just destroy history. This is a shame, and a disgrace. That man's family should be ashamed, and unworthy to carry the soldiers name.

People are stupid history distorted, education is dead, people with fragile feelings seem to be everywhere. Grow a backbone stand up and say “no” Division isn’t caused by monuments, division is caused by dissidents who won’t conform and are unwilling to educate themselves towards society, and want there to be a cause for personal failure.

“What need of question now wether he was wrong or right, he wields no warlike weapons now, he returns no Foe man’s thrust, Who but a coward would revile an honest soldiers dust” ? - unknown confederate mother’s eulogy to her son that should forever serve as soldiers epitaph

This is one of the most despicable things I have ever seen

I’m a grandson x3 of a Union soldier who served with the NJ Volunteers and he fought in several battles. His letters home describe how much both sides loathed each other. But he also described how they respected each other as fighting men at the same time because they were equally sacrificing themselves. So I truly don’t believe he or any other Union soldier would ever agree with removing these memorials of their enemies.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

― George Orwell, 1984

We went from the greatest generation, to the worst in less than one hundred years. This is disgraceful.

If you disturb the rest of a human being because you disapprove of his earthly actions, may the remains of YOUR loved ones find no peace, nor respect, nor eternal rest. May those who come after you judge you by their morality and NOT by that which you believe to be right and just. May your remains be ploughed up with heartless disregard and inhuman callous depravity. It is the reward you have earned.

I think its awful to remove confederate history. My ancestors were confederates and union. Did not know about them except they served. They are good men and worthy of leaving alone. All these years they are a testament to what happened. I guess we all shall just forget slavery existed
