Do This Before Watching a TV Series to Learn English

English TV shows can be a great way to learn English, but did you know there are a few things you can do before you watch the show that will help you learn even more while watching, and make the show more understandable and enjoyable?

In this English lesson I'll show you seven things you should be before you even hit the play button. Each of these things will help you get ready to watch the show so that your mind is ready to absorb as much English as possible.

I watch your videos and can notice that your english is very clear for me in spite you are a native speaker. Plenty of bloggers on Youtube and moreover characters in movies are more difficult for understanding. My advice to all is to watch and hear different people, from different locations and with different accents to avoid addiction to one pace and manner of speaking. This allow you to understand more hues of english.

Hi Bob. Here in Brazil we have the habit of watching American movies with audio in English and subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese.
I already have a good understanding of English so I can tell when the subtitles don't say the same thing as the audio.

One of the main problems that we face as non-native speakers is that we find it a bit difficult to understand some TV shows due to accent variations. Not all English accents are same. So, it's difficult to understand native speakers. However, Canadian English is clear and easy to understand. I know this because I am in the habit of listening to CBS news bulletins.
