After crashing on a friend's couch in NJ, we eventually got standby business class flights to Naples, Italy where we spent a very unexpected weekend with some great friends @heathandalyssa :) Then we continued the longest travel day ever to Tel Aviv, but Nate's bag didn't make it. With a head cold and no stuff, it was not the best way to start our trip. But it was definitely memorable!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

The part about Nate was so sweet and wonderful. He is the kind of man I hope to meet one day; someone who sees the bigger picture, doesn't get angry about the little things, etc. Very cool that he took a really crappy situation in stride, and wanted to use it as a lesson, so to speak. Awesome.

Kara, thank you for that wonderful description of Nate, since we don’t normally see that side of him. However, I do you believe you two are the perfect partners, since you bring out the best in each other. I have honestly never encountered a more positive person than Kara. She can take the most normal, or distressing, situation, and find the humor and joy in it. To the extent that you guys are “influencers, ” you should know that your influence on me goes far beyond making me want to travel more into making me want to become a better, more joyful and positive, person like Kara and Nate!

I'm home alone and literally just cheered when Nate got his bag back. Things are just things, but when it still stings when you lose them, especially when they've been part of your story for so long. Definitely shows how much character Nate has that he managed to keep a cool head in this situation. You guys truly are the best!
