Why I Don't Make Art Much Anymore.

I haven't been making art much anymore on my channel as you may have noticed. A few things behind that I explain in this video. One of those being I have actually been drawing - you just havent seen it yet! Other reasons being I'm burned out, Youtube and art isn't always the most fun combo. I love to make videos and I love to make art but there aren't a lot of times where I enjoy doing both together, so I tend to make videos that don't require me to paint on camera. Those don't even do too well anyway! I'd love to know what you enjoy most about my channel so I know what kind of content to go for in the future!

I’ve always thought of your channel as an “artist channel” rather than an “art channel.” The content I have loved the most from you has been about being an artist: trying new supplies, exploring art hacks, organizing your art stuff, learning a new artistic skill, etc. It’s about your journey and life as an artist, and you don’t have to show us your art to stay true to the heart of this channel

SO MANY Youtubers are either quitting or scaling way back lately. I don't think the creators are to blame, I think YT keeps moving the goalposts on what will make channels successful or even keep them sustainable as a way for creators to earn a living. Hopefully they will stop putting their creators in impossible positions before the whole thing shuts down because only AI and bots can keep up with the system they created. Take care of yourself and keep making the content that brings you joy and fulfillment. Happy New Year.

It's so true that making art for a video and for yourself are entirely different processes! One is quite meditative, the other is stressful because you have to worry about working with 30mins of camera battery, horrifically bright lights shining in your eyes and not naturally tilting the canvas etc haha! It's nice to see you're still making content after all these years, many people have burned out by now so do whatever you gotta to look out for your own mental wellbeing ❤- Steph

Happy New year, Chloe. Please don’t feel pressured to make art just for us. Do what u love! And we’ll love it.

Things I love about your content: your personality, You easily inspire me, and I can see the passion in what you do weather it is painting or just trying app n’ stuff. I know you said you don’t enjoy making art content any more, but my last reason still stands.

So what you're telling me is we get crochet content? (I absolutely love crocheting and this would be so fun! If it's of interest to you!) ❤

I watch your videos because I enjoy your humor, but especially your talent. As an older person (61 yrs.), I don't have the same need for quick, rapidly changing entertainment. I love to watch the whole process of art being created. Please continue to make your incredible art, but also throw in the type of videos that get you maximum views, so hopefully most of your viewers and YouTube will be appeased
But, first and foremost, put yourself first, take care of your mental and physical health above all else.

Honestly, I come here because I enjoy your personality and while your art is fantastic, I'm here for whatever you're going to bring us

I completely agree about filming while drawing. It just feels like it takes away from the joy and spontaneity of making art. I do enjoy it but is definitely hard. I’m sure that many people would agree that we watch and support you for you, not just what you make. You’re an amazing artist and person, and I wish you the best 2024 ♥

I also want to say that I have loved when u have done the art boxes. I don’t think it’s the boxes so much as seeing you do “a page” of a sketchbook or using a prompt to jump off of. Seeing you share your creativity through things like this or “projects” on designing/ organizing your space, or just hearing you think and verbalizing your creative process.
Really what we love most is your personality and openness and just being you (so yes we loved the silly skits etc too).

I love the mix of content. I love to see you opening things, trying new things, and making art. I’m very eclectic in my tastes and I “rotate” my art interests as well as my videos. Love the way your channel is but you have to be happy with your content.

I watch you for your personality. The way you interact with things feels genuine and optimistic. I love art stuff, but I'd probably watch anything you put out tbh

I think most people watch you for your personality first and foremost, then your art. So frustrating when you put your heart and soul in to a piece and you don’t get the views. Whatever you do going forward, keep being down to earth you and you won’t go far wrong ❤️xx

A few years ago everyone was doing 3 marker challenges, artistic wreck this journal pages, art box challenges etc... that's what I miss so much. I don't want to see somebody draw on an iPhone 🙃

As an artist I do enjoy seeing art videos as it's really interesting seeing how other artists work and gives me a lot of inspiration and motivation. I do enjoy all your other videos as well, though! I'd say just do whatever content you enjoy and feel passionate about

You are allowed to change!! Many of my favorite channels have changed, like Van Lifers buying homes and renovating, or starting families. Your viewership is growing and changing too. I honestly enjoy your more realistic videos and would love to watch you try new things. Crochet is still art. And working on your store, and planning a wedding. Life is art!

Your intro is why i dont want to make art anymore, lol. - '10/10, then made a short, 54 million views!!'..
It ended my enjoyment of art when they brought shorts in. :(

So happy for your journey and direction!! I've always seen your channel as more a personality than art.

Chloe, as a fellow artist I always try to let my clients and anyone else know that you have to take care of you first. We get so overwhelmed with the day to day, or even if we have large queues of things to do that sometimes we just need to step back and just take care of ourselves. Keep your chin up! Whatever content you decide to make, be it painting, crocheting or opening cool supplies, those who are here who care about you you are, will remain here. :) I've been following your channel since pretty much the beginning and it has been fun to see all of your adventures. Art related or not. Its a new year and its time for a new you :D and I, for one, am excited to see where the year takes you!

I'm one of the people who unsubscribed after the Disney Advent, but this did show up in my recommended feed and I watched. That video was a cumulative moment for me where I realized I wasn't the audience you wanted (which is totally fine, this video confirms that). It was as much about me not wanting to follow content that was about being a consumer as anything else, so don't stress it. I'm a paying you tube subscriber, so I know my views aren't worth as much to creators than folks who have the ad based version, but you seemed to wonder aloud in this video about what people are interested in and I figured I would share. If you swapped me for a more valuable viewer, that's great! I really loved your art videos and it makes me sad to realize it wasn't making you happy. (Absolutely do what makes you happy.) You're bright, talented, and capable. Best of luck!

I feel this all so deeply. It's SO HARD to figure out what to do as an artist even without taking YouTube into account. Honestly I like that you have a wide variety of content, so I feel like you're really doing things that seem fun to you at the time. Keep doing what strikes you as entertaining. Work on your shop. Heck, do some vids giving tips about what you learn through that process - site set up, advertising, etc. How do you decide how much of what inventory to get? I promise, whatever you put out, there's going to be somebody who loves it.
