Our friends Grant and Shalee Taylor from King and Queen of Country Swing were kind enough to share a tutorial for two-stepping. We hope it inspires some of y'all to take a turn on the dancefloor, even if it's just in your living room!

I had a date this weekend and she told me she loves county music and dancing so I assumed she meant 2 stepping...y'all made this so easy to pick up, now here's the catch. She didn't know how to 2 step !!! Lol still an amazing night and thank y'all for helping me impress my date ❤️

Y'all nailed it. Boot scootin' diagonal - left foot, left foot and then right foot slow is the way I've done this since the 80's when I learned whilst dancing with a wooden chair..

Style 2 is how I learned it back in the early 80's. :)

Love it. What I like about this video is that you covered what you are calling style 2. That was what I learned many moons ago. When the two step showed up in my feed I thought I'd check it out. I quickly become worried that maybe I had been doing it wrong all these years since most are teaching the "quick and slow" more like a walk. So it's nice to see I'm not wrong. Lol

I am from the Texas Hill Country. Style 2 is how I've done it for 53 years. You'll see this style even today at the dance halls.

she has to be the cutest, most adorable thing on two legs! Love just watching her dance in all of her videos.

That's how I was taught the 2-step 40 years ago when I first took lessons (I don't think It really matters), but most clubs/teachers teach: quick quick slow slow, but I prefer the slow slow quick quick; especially for beginners. Since then, I've taken ballroom lessons and therefore adopted a more formal posture and enjoy it because of better control & balance. But still enjoying @ 66 with my wife of 30 years (who I met 2-stepping). Oh, I forgot to say I like Tacovas also, I have 3 pairs.

My dad taught me the “hoppy version, ” important to note there are still 4 steps, just the two in the middle are the quick ones once you get going🤣 thanks for the video

Easy to follow! I learned “quick, quick, slow slow” when I started, so it seems interchangeable with tempo. Fun!

The best part about this clip is the pointy toe boots. Just by seeing those I knew it would be an awesome clip, and it was. Love seeing those rather than those fangled city slicker square-toed boots.
