These didn't "flop" because they are bad, I actually hate Jordan 5's and I really like these (especially this color way). They "flopped" because DJ Khaled.

Love them. Color is different from other releases. Quality is amazing - leather is butter. They sat because 1) too loud for some people 2) hard to match 3) we the best on heel 4) price.

Just rock these with khakis, light wash jeans, grey wool/flannel pants, grey joggers etc. You can rock these with a lot of colors - no need to match.

These definitely should have come out before summer. Quality on these are top tier I think the resale will go up on these in the future

To me this shoe is what separated the HYPEBEAST VS someone who really enjoys the craftsmanship of a shoe!!! If it’s not going to make you money they won’t buy them!! Me personally I received my pair and there are immaculate IMO I enjoy the shoe for what it really is and not just the hype

I feel like if the shoes didn't say "we the best" on the back instead of Nike Air they would have done much better

At some point, we really have to consider that the word “flop” really is tied to reselling cause they either sold out or sold with deep discounts in certain places. The quality is amazing and everyone could obtain it if they wanted to manually… so where the flip factor come from. I thought the point was to cop what you like if you can tho ?

biggest reason (atleast for me): No one wants DJ khaled's name on their sneakers. Even coming from someone who likes 5s. Take the name off them and I would have absolutely wanted to grab the sail pair.
the 3s only poppin because its extremely limited (sub 100 or sum like that) and its a 3, a very popular jordan model.

So glad these were easy to pick up. Feels very premium for a jordan brand release. Unique colorway, great materials, packaging, 4 pairs of laces. I don't love dj khaled, but i also dont hate him. I just thought it was a dope shoe and definitely worth my $225. I mean the midnight navy 4s i got were $210 for just a GR white jordan 4 but those sold out instantly...

I dig this color way a lot. And I would have picked these up.. but the collab branding with DJ Khalid kills it for me.

I got them and they are fantastic quality I think it's just the colorway... If they would have released a more basic colorway as the GR and this as the exclusive people would be fawning over them. I think a more basic colorway would have sold better.

I picked up the Sail colourway. I am not a J5 guy but I would rock the Sail colour.

I personally love these. I hit on SNKRS and was honestly excited even though the hype wasn’t there. The quality is amazing for a Jordan and I love the slimmed down nature of this 5. I think the release was soft for these reasons:
- the timing was off. Released in the fall (def a spring/summer color way) and was released alongside some of the most hype shoes of the year (l&f, amm4, and the orange lobsters)
- the 5 isn’t a hyped up model. Jordan 1s had their day and now we live in the heyday of 4s but for the hypebeast sneakerhead, 5s ain’t it.
- the economy definitely played a part. If these dropped during 2020/2021 when stimmy checks were going out, these would have been an instant sell out.

Got the Crimson Bliss for a sold price, I absolutely love their tone, and I'm glad they were sitting. People who really wanted these were able to get them. I guess they flopped due to the market, they were released at the same time when people were waiting for the lost & found, the cherry 11's .. etc. A lot of sneakers flopped due to poor timing even the A Ma Maniere 4's flopped.

I think they flopped because of all the colourways he revealed on social media, the 2 they released to the general public were the weakest - that plus the high price (same reason a lot of 1's sat this year) and the fact they released a summer colourway in autumn!

Personally I love this pair, I wore them yesterday and the quilted inner liner makes the shoes pretty stiff regardless of the plush leather on the upper. I found my shins and top of my feet in pain after a day of wear. Apart from that, I think these released too close to so many other incredible releases such as the AMM 4s and the LandFs. I think these are beautiful and my kind of colorway

I love the colors! Definitely a summer/spring shoe. But I literally ONLY bought them because they match an essentials jacket I bought. Khaled had no influence on my purchase 😭😂
