So Mark basically doesn't like everyday sporty cars, he only loves his commuters or pure sports cars. So this was basically a rant on which cars he doesn't like and less so a review of an example of a modified E92. Okay, Mark, we get it, it is not an S2000. And the comments about how interior doesn't look or feel special are nonsense, especially since this car is a stripper. A GT2 RS has the same interior, even can have the same seats as a Carrera. No one bats an eye.

"Why do you love the E92?"
Matt: **goes on a two-minute emotional and personal story of why it's a great car**

I’ve owned this car since new since 2009 and have 236k kms. It’s the best everyday sports car that you can own hands down. I have the 4 door, and it just does everything really well. People shit on the RB, I changed mine at 160k kms because of the hype and they came out flawless. My throttle actuators are still original, and have not broke.

I drive it year round in summer, and snow. And I have about 8 track days

Marks dream garage is a Nissan Rouge and a Miata.

I'm generally a JDM man but the e92 coupe is the definition of gorgeous automotive design.

Did the European delivery on this M3 at the Welt in Munich. They showed me the car, shut the hood gently since you’re inside this “BMW world” and it’s pretty quiet, and then down the ramp you go out the door. The autobahn is only a short distance, unlimited speed begins not too far from that. Keeping in mind the break-in period, I accelerated up to 80, then 90, then hit 100. Felt so strong, handled so well, I put my foot into a bit more. 110 then 115, now at 120 suddenly the left side of the hood came up! It never latched completely from the Welt!!! The right side stayed latched or this could have been a disaster. I pulled over, no damage or twisting found, but wow that was close. Went from hero to nearly zero in less than 20minutes. Fun times 🤪

Having owned this car for 6 years this is a very special car to me! No issues to date and one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. I relate more with Matt from Obsessed garage how he describes this car than I do with Mark. 6 years later and I still smile every damn time I hear that V-8. It's not the fastest car out there, but it is not why I bought it. It has been my everyday driver for all these years.

No way around it. You bought this generation M3 for the V8 an M5 for the V10. First and only generations to use these configurations. Both were high-revving, naturally aspirated, and sounded amazing.

Reliability be damned. These are instant classics.

To Mark

My best friends dad has this car, and when I showed him this video here’s what he said: “The bandaid kid is right”

He said that the whole “you can drive it everyday to the shops” is totally false. The running costs and the threat of unreliability keeps it in the garage 24/7. And if he wanted a garage queen, he would’ve bought a more dedicated car anyways. He said it’s the worse of both worlds and the compromise sucks

He’s only keeping it now for investment sakes, and only takes it out to stretch it legs, but otherwise, he said he would’ve spent his money elsewhere if he could go back in time.

Right on point SG. I love your honesty, please don’t ever water down your criticisms because you’re worried that the fanboys will get upset. Honesty is why a lot of us subscribed to you in the first place.

Also, maybe change your name to bandaid guy?

Cheers

“You’re basically buying this for the engine!”
Hey it works for the Challenger Hellcat, why not an M3?

It’s an underrated car right now. I’ve owned 5 BMWs, and it’s the best I’ve had

This is one of the coolest M3 cars I've seen, exceptional spec. I love this car. Its a superior automotive experience. I've owned 2 M3's and enjoyed each one. You simply have to have large cash behind you to keep up with the repairs and normal maintenance of these cars. Nothing from Europe that is true high performance is inexpensive to own. Great review.

Owned an e90 328i back in the day, it truly was a great driver's car. Nice and nimble. People argue the previous generations were far better, but the e90 was a nice and comfortable daily driver also. The average driver won't really miss the added prowess of earlier generations.

As an owner of both a 350R and an E92 ( slick top as well but I have Nav), they are alike and different. The 350 is a bigger car, wider, louder, more crude, very grippy seats. The M3 is polished, quieter, thought I would hate the DCT, but have grown to appreciate it for an every day driver. Great content here as usual, thank you gents.

Beautiful and understated exterior design, especially after the big nose generations were unveiled. German cars back then didn't have to flex their performance so hard.
