Literally today while playing infinite I was thinking about how much I miss the mangler before it was nerfed! Glad to see I’m not the only one who still thinks they should reverse this, it made zero sense for them to change it.

Imo the Mangler (when brought back to 1 shot beat down) should be on the weapon racks with the bulldog in and out of competitive, the Mangler is just to good to have as a common weapon.

It's not just the mangler! Bladed damage all across the Banished weapons gave extra melee damage, and they removed the extra damage blades gave out, which is ridiculous. Excluding the Shock rifle. It didn't have any extra blade melee damage for some reason.

Not just un-nerf the Mangler….un-nerf melee completely. They didn’t nerf the Mangler - they nerfed melee. Iirc, EVERYTHING took a hit. People forget that.

The Mangler is a good weapon, but before the nerf it was a fantastic weapon that was so much fun to use.

The mangler is a pistol. It shouldn't ever have been as powerful as a shotgun to begin with. You can't please everyone, but thats the simple fact. It needed to be nerfed to be a pistol. 1 shot more before you melee isn't that big of a deal. Shotguns didn't need a buff unless they planned to rework the entire weapon sandbox. I think the nerf was well needed to bring the mangler down to actual pistol level damage. If you want a 1 shot/melee kill weapon, a shotgun does it. There's honestly no need to have the mangler be a 3rd shotgun, especially when that tier weapon rack doesn't require the first to be used entirely to spawn another.

What 343 did with the mangler just reminds me of what they did to the Halo 5 sandbox when they made everything useless outside of the magnum. I'm worried we'll eventually get that again.

Having the mangler be a boneless energy sword was pretty boring IMO, I prefer it the new way. Puts the emphasis on hitting your shots more, also it has a guaranteed fastball setup now which is even more fun than one shot one punch.

While I don't like the nerf, I kinda gotta respect how they nerfed the Mangler. Instead of doing what I heard some competitive players asking for, which was to lower the Mangler's melee damage, they lowered ALL melee damage. I only wish they didn't make the BR keep its original melee damage in competitive matches. If they had the competitive BR have the normal BRs melee damage, it may have been something to remind competitive players to be careful what you wish for, because it may come true in a way you didn't expect.

I miss the old mangler so much.. but now I use bulldog for the combo... shoot+punch, sometimes its an instant kill like the sword would be if you get it right

I used the Mangler all the time before the update, but now I don’t pick it up, it lost the unique thing that I knew could come in handy in combat. The competitive community always know how to suck the fun out of games.
