Love theory because for 35 years I did not know it and thought it was magic and mystery and unobtainable. But when I started to learn it I was pleasantly surprised that I understood on an intuitive level more than I thought. Like, that is why this chord pushes to this one and why that notes makes sense. Etc. suddenly I had names and numbers for things and there was a system I could learn. No more beyond reach bs. I could learn it. Made me a better player, better song writer, better teacher, and the fascination remained. I’m still mystified by how it all fits together. Universal language doesn’t begin to express the pure love magic that exists when notes rub against eachother.

I like the elementry school way to teaching chord. Just draw snowman on the music paper space, space, space or line, line, line and your have a triad.
