opening up about being a mom in the fitness space | the dark side of social media, feeling alone and mental health struggles.
#momlife #fitnessjourney #socialmedia

i cry a lot in this video so feel free to just not watch it. i felt the need to explain how my mental health journey has been with social media. especially around being a mom. how i have at times felt so alone and isolated. but i now have fully stepped into my own, and don't care about the past negative comments. i want you to know you are welcome here no matter what. your health and fitness journey may look different to others, but it is JUST as important. you matter. and I hope this also gives even more insight on why i am always a bit shy or scared to share vinny. my priority is to keep my family safe. i want to dip my toes into sharing more about my role of being a mom and how to balance it.

thank you for being here. most of you are absolutely incredible people and have been nothing but kind and supportive. thank you for allowing me to share my story. please be kind.

hi guys, i know this video is a bit random. but i really felt the need to share it with you and let you in on what i've been dealing with. hopefully this can also shine some insight on how powerful your words are. and thank you to every KIND message and comment. this is also to remind you that you belong, no matter where you are in life. to show up for other moms, or future moms and let you know that you can do it. even when the world and society tells you otherwise. thank you for being here <3 and sorry i cried so much.

I'm not a mom but this broke my heart. You are such a positive force on social media and in fitness and this had me fighting back tears seeing you so vulnerable and emotional. You are amazing and so loved by all the people that matter 💙💙💙Keep being YOU Britt. Mom. Fitness girly. Influencer. All of it 💕

After I had my baby girl I’m 2021, I was really struggling to put myself first to try to get back to where I was. It wasn’t too long ago that I stumbled upon your blog when I was looking for motivation. When I found out that you were also a mom and with a young child, I felt so happy because I thought finding a work/life/mom balance was impossible. Moms are not appreciated enough. We are superheroes. Every single day we show up for our family but not every mom can show up for themselves. You showed me that I can show up for myself. I reached out to my mom to see if she’d watch my baby for about an hour or so on the days I go to the gym and she gladly does. Your blog motivated me. So keep pushing momma, you’ve got this

I’m a 27 year old mommy to two young children and I love this! I bring my kids to daycare and get comments like “your poor body” and “I don’t miss those days”
Meanwhile I feel great and enjoy most moments ❤ the enemy hates families!

Brittany ❤️ I am not a mom, but I really want to be someday!!! And I hope you know that there are SO many of us who look up to you and admire you for working hard at BOTH motherhood and content creation, let alone fitness!!!! The reason there are not many moms in the space is because it’s HARD, and you are AMAZING for doing both, even if people try to discredit that. Thank you for always spreading light and for being someone who values family in today’s world. I love you and your content!!! 🥰 keep pushing ❤️

So encouraging! I love hearing from moms in the fitness space like you, MegSquats, Hannah Oberg, Taylor Chamberlain and SarasDay. We need more moms in the space!

Being a mama is one of the greatest things in the world, don’t let anyone ever downplay that. Kids are a blessing from God. You are an inspiration for the mamas out there. The internet can be a scary place.

I’m 25 and have 2 toddlers and I drag them to the gym with me. You inspire me to keep going and not give up on this journey!

So sad and frustrating that something that is SUCH a critical part of society is so devalued in the West thanks to our obsession with individualism and a narrow definition success. Being a mom will be one of the most important things I will have the privilege of doing, but it doesn't have to define my entire existence. Love your video and the honesty! Seeing people kick a$$ as parents while doing what they love is important and inspiring!

My husband asked me the other day what my “goal physique” is - I showed him your account, not just because of a physique goal, but I showed him how adorable your family is, how strong of a mom you are, and what an incredible job you do balancing your jobs as a mom and in fitness. You are such an inspiration to me, and I’m sure so many others!! Thank you for keeping with it and sharing your life. You are so appreciated!

Hi Brittany, I have been following you for a while now and I’m really glad to have seen this video this morning. You are the only fitness influencer I have found that represents us moms. I know a bit about these struggles only because I am one of your podcast fans as well. I just want to say thank you for being yourself and showing us how all of us struggle. I brings me joy to see you overcome so much and have the chance to bask in all your success. Congratulations on all you have conquered, and thank you for being the influencer that so many of us look up to. ❤️❤️❤️

One of the things I love about you, is that you're a fitness influencer who is also a mom. You understand the mom struggles those others don't. Keeping being your wonderful self and enjoying your family.

The fact that you are a mom has given me encouragement to try better and get in shape because after having my second child, I've felt so different in my body. I want to fall in love again with my body and start my fitness journey.

People hate kids but they were once a kid. Whatever we absolutely LOVE our kids. ❤️❤️ as long as we love them that’s all that matters.

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m 25 years old and have a 1 year old. And motherhood is such a blessing. I recently discovered you and I listen to your podcasts all the time. You are so inspiring. I love you ❤ thank you. You motivate me to and take care of my mind and body more.

The beauty in your story is this, Britt: You are empowering women. You are showing moms they can. THEY CAN pursue fitness. THEY CAN focus their own journey AND enjoy family life. Britt, there is no other female fitness influencer like you. You’re honest, you’re real, you’re encouraging, and you inspire others. Vinny and Darrien are absolute gifts from God. Don’t allow people who don’t know you or your story to define you. Much love, girly ❤
