Ever since Canada became a nation, we've been secretly worried about our friends to the south, just as we have been publicly supportive. Recent events in the United States have only exacerbated those concerns.

So what do experts think Canada should be doing to prepare for the worst? What scenarios are we gaming out? Is this even a realistic fear? And if so ... what exactly do we think we can do about it?

Considering the increasingly volatile political situation in the United States, i am adamantly determined to eventually punch a one-way ticket to Canada within several years. My biggest dream is to matriculate into law school somewhere 'north of the international border.' As a politically disaffected American, i am now prepared to conclude that my irreparably shattered faith in the fragile governmental institutions of the United States during my lifetime. Realistically, i simply CANNOT in good conscience continue to proclaim my allegiance to Uncle Sam any longer. Sadly, the 'ideals' on which the United States was supposedly founded on have been brazenly defiled by the far-right for their extremely insidious political ends. indeed, i am no longer enamoured with the United States.

Look, don’t talk nonsense and don’t worry about things you have no control over!… Canada needs to be a better ally to the U.S. and be grateful that the U.S. is always there for Canada economically and militarily. Don’t get caught up into the American mainstream media’s frenzy to divide Americans… It’s not your place & not your business!… Just stay out of American politics & continue to enjoy the privileges of being America’s next door neighbor, their military protection and their economic umbrella.
