Love chocolate? The Hershey Pennsylvania area might be the place for you! Rich in history, culture and of course, Hershey's candy, this spot is a great place to live. Here are some pros and cons of living in Hershey Pennsylvania.
PROS:
- You’ll never have a sweet tooth that isn’t satisfied - with all the delicious Hershey products available around town and the world-famous Hershey park right nearby, there’s no shortage of sugary treats in Hershey Pennsylvania!
- Excellent education - with top-notch schools like Penn State Harrisburg and Harrisburg Area Community College not far away, students from kindergarten up have plenty of options when it comes to learning and higher education.
- Great outdoors - the nearby Appalachian Mountains provide excellent hiking and skiing opportunities, while the Susquehanna River provides plenty of fishing and water activities in Hershey Pennsylvania.
CONS:
- Smaller city - with a population of around 14,000 people, Hershey Pennsylvania is more rural than other cities in Pennsylvania. This could be great for those who crave peace and quiet but can be off-putting to people who are used to living in larger metropolitan areas.
- Limited access to public transportation - while there are several bus routes available, due to its location it’s not easy or convenient to get around without a car.
- Inclement weather - like many parts of Pennsylvania, Hershey Pennsylvania experiences a range of weather, from cold winters to hot summers. This could be difficult for those who don’t like extreme temperatures or sudden weather changes.

Well, a good video, pretty accurate, but I can give you some cons. I went to school here, and frequently come to visit my elderly mother. The vast majority of the residents live on the south side of town. For elderly people such as myself, who can't drive, there is no public transportation. There are buses that pass through downtown only, hourly to Lebanon, and about every 2 hours to Harrisburg. No service on weekends or evenings. I have to walk about 2 miles to the bus stop, which is getting harder to do each year. My 90 year old mother still drives, but the time she wouldn't be able to, is getting closer. How she's going to be able to get around is beyond me. Although Hershey has many restaurants downtown and around the park, on the south side, the selection is piss poor. If I want a good hamburger, ( and a bit expensive), I have to walk 4 miles round trip. For the upper middle class and higher, Hershey is a good place, but for the working class, it can be a bit expensive and difficult. No dollar stores, no walmart or aldi, and fast foods basically just on the west side.( too far for me to walk). Other than that, it's alright I guess. Nice Library. Nice walking trails. Safe. Way too much traffic, especially during the summer. There have been quite a few kids and adults killed by cars, just trying to cross the streets, even at the crosswalks.

Love these videos. You should try to make one about Lebanon next.

I’d love to move to Hershey and a lot of pros and cons but the one killing me is obviously the cost of the houses cause whether it’s to buy or rent if it’s even possible the costs seem to be huge because of the town and the surroundings

Sorry, resident here for 12 years: you’ll have to define great restaurants for yourself. Have not experienced it once
