Tbh they've been slacking on maps, lobbies, and custom classes.

Maps are probably one of the most important part of these games and they've been having some awful designs. Either too big and boring, too small and clunky, or bad spawns and they've been relying on remakes so heavily that any new map just doesn't compare to the old ones.

Lobbies have been trash with SBMM, forced to leave every lobby, censorship, and just the babying of the player base, making it a lot harder to just relax and chill with randoms.

The classes have been so messy especially the gunsmith, then you have constant DLC and blueprints that cost $20+ and its just not for any casual player like they claim to be making these games for.

None of these problems will be fixed and if they cant fix these, I wont be playing any new games. I used to grind CoD during BO2 and BO3, then i slowly started playing casually and just hopping on for fun but you cant just hop on here and there without having one game where you do good and you know the next game is going to be hell. Youre perpetually stuck in this 50/50 satisfaction and unless you want to sweat the whole time, its not fun for a casual.

The only game SBMM was done right in was Bo4. I liked that game. it didn't have disbanding lobbies and it felt really smooth until they added game breaking dlc weapons and specialists.
These newer games would benefit from a more toned down SBMM

They got rid of player counts because they realized after blops 1 that it was a net negative because the players dropping off after a week. I'm sure that still happens.
