The Most Disappointing Sonic Game Yet? | Sonic Forces

A new Sonic game's come out so it was inevitable that I'd end up reviewing it sooner or later. After the runaway success of Sonic Mania, can Sonic Forces hope to measure up?

Is it a bad game? No. Is it a good game? No. Is it fun? Not really. Is it offensive? Not really.
This game just exists is all, there is nothing in particular about it. A year from now everyone will have forgotten it.

Well this is certainly a good chilled review. I would like to point out that Infinite while unmemorable does have a development. (Only in the subsidiary material like: Episode Shadow and the Comics. Which is a shame) I felt as if it's like Sonic Team are tired with the franchise and just shelled this out. Someone feeling so bloody deflated they gave this out for like "Shell this out for £30. Get it out the way."

So, I personally think just give Sonic to some new developers to see if they can breathe new life into it... Might be a tragic failure. Maybe a success. Who knows. I'm just a person who's naive to business strategy...

(Also: Chaos and Shadow not being bosses is bloody almost criminal... But. That's sadly the case.)

All of the old Sonic cast, and you only get to play as Sonic, Classic Sonic or Eddy. So much wasted potential. Very nice review, BTW SJ Webster!

This game sucked big ass. False advertisement and just so lackluster af. What a disappointment. SonicTeam should feel embarrassed and how a group fans right next to next them did a much better game

I honestly think modern and the oc characters are fun the problems for me are that the story is stupid one minute in dialogue they’re saying oh no sonics being tortured then it instantly cuts to him perfectly fine and still cracking jokes. There’s no time to let it sink in like when we were told sonic was dead (not like we thought he was) we where instantly told in the next bit of dialogue that he’s actually not dead, my other problem is classic sonic. Sonic team, please leave classic sonic to the professionals.. thank you oh yea I almost forgot the last problem is the level designs, every stage that has great potential ended before it had the chance to be even better.

I tried so hard to like this game. My second playthrough was such a chore. I'd have stopped if it wasn't for a stream.
