A tanker train hauling crude oil derailed in Whatcom County Tuesday morning and several train cars burst into flames. There are no reports of injuries.

Six tank cars derailed near Custer at 11:46 a.m., according to the Whatcom County Sherrif's Office. It's unclear what caused the train cars to derail.

Oil is still burning from two of the tanker cars, but the flamers are under control, the sheriff's office said. The fire is burning at the end of the train, according to BNSF Railway.
