Just want to say thank you for being a role model to me when I was at my absolute lowest. I graduated from college this year and was stuck in a one-sided love situation with this "friend" and she was well aware of it because I confessed

She wasn't the prettiest (5/10) but I fell for her because of how "sweet of a person" she was, or at least that's what I thought.

She used to give me crazy amount of mixed signals. At times she'd be super friendly and playful, and at times she'd act distant or ghost me over DMs. Behind the friendly persona was a toxic manipulator.

She wasn't even a friend, she just used me to getting passing grades in her assignment because I was kind of a nerd

I'm glad to completely eliminate those feelings I once had for her. She meant a lot to me but she broke my heart.

I blocked her 2 months ago. Maybe she wasnt toxic to me, maybe she did nothing wrong. But the fact was that I was hurting myself and my goals over the wait of her texts. Feeling anxious for days before she replied. It wasnt healthy. Knew I had to do it. So I did it. Trying my best to move on by accepting that it was a mistake, and that I have nothing but good wishes for her in her life. After all, I did like her and spend an year on her.

Found this channel a few weeks ago. I went through a breakup from a 5 year relationship a year and half ago, which started beautiful but started to become toxic at the end of it. The girl broke up with me knowing we could have dragged on the relationship for 10+ years.

I refused to break down. I chose to keep working on myself. Work extra hard.

Fast forward to now, I ended up authoring 2 research papers, one book chapter, found my best friend and calisthenics trainer, and more academic publications coming.

I am now building my career as a researcher. An Independent researcher. ✌️

Haiz. I wish I had such advice when I was in my early 20s. I ruined my mental health running after the wrong girls. In the end, I either frequently got taken advantage of or ghosted by women. Daamnnnn !! It's been 7 years to this thing when the girl i loved also said that she loves me but she never committed, she never made things clear, she would always step back . But from my side, she always wanted a treatment of a girlfriend😑. She always blames for the things she has done wrongly and never takes the accountability of her own actions.
