5 Things You NEED To Bring To Marine Corps Boot Camp!

I asked my Marine recruiter. " what i gotta bring " to bootcamp? He said " y'0 -ass" 😅 i am 69yrs old

My top 5 is
1. A will to work.
2. A will to adapt.
3. A will to reach your limit and go past it.
4. A will to win
5. And most importantly and will to win.

Tell your family that you love them and tell them that they likely won't hear from you for a minute. Tell them not to send anything as you won't receive it. Most importantly tell them this stuff before you leave because your "last phone call" is so brief, chaotic, and there is a decent chance no one will pick up the phone.

While you are still a recruit, you have no freedom, so bring what they tell you and nothing more. Anything more they want you to have, they will issue it.

The most important tip I always give people entering any training, in any military, any branch, and any level from Basic to SF, is win the mental war. This is especially big for US Marines and British Royal Marines. In the Marines, the drill sergeant is to break you down, and undo anything your parents taught you, and build you back up as a Marine. That means they will tear you to shreds to break you down swiftly. They make you do things so quickly and in the hardest way possible, so that you are 100% guaranteed to screw up, where they will then smoke the ish out of you. Don't let the DIs beat you in the mental battlefield. Respect them, listen to them the first time, and treat them as your superior, not your equal, as they are Marines, and you are not, not yet at least.

Marine Corps Boot Camp is harder than any other initial training and indoctrination, and it actually competes with the difficulty of many SF Assessment and Selection units. This is necessary because while Army's job is to hold the line, and they do this job better than anyone else. The Marine Corps job is to attack, to counter attack, and to defeat the enemy and force the front line to move on your terms. This is a doctrine and a mindset. That is why the most important thing to bring with you is a will to win no matter what.
