I am so thankful to these minimalism content creators for always providing (and by that I mean selling) solutions that just happen to be their product sponsors.

The fact that they are selling the idea of owning less and not pleasing people, while they pitch you something that contributes to consumerism is lost to a lot of people.

Minimalism is the way to go. No point in holding on to things that don't add any value to your life. Great stuff man!

Few months ago I got rid of a LOT of clothes because they didn't fit and have been keeping them for when I lose weight. After getting rid of them I then started to lose weight and now I don't have them. haha Maybe getting rid of them helped with my weight loss journey. Time to look to the future rather than the past.

This wasn’t the video I wanted but it was the video I needed lol. I follow a lot of either frugal channels or sustainability channels, and I often try to turn away when either of them talk about decluttering. At this point in my life, I’m very conscious of what I bring into my house and make sure that any purchases I make are as mindful, sustainable, and ethical as they can be within my means. But when it comes to decluttering, I’m awful. While I’ve gotten rid of some stuff in the past, I still have SO much stuff I just don’t need that I hang onto. And I just really appreciate you breaking down different things like sentiment that have caused me to hold onto so many things for so long. Another thing that stands in my way is making sure I get rid of stuff responsibly and that it finds a good home and doesn’t just end up in the landfill. It would be so cool to see you explore that side of things on your channel if you’re ever interested in that. And again, thank you so much for making this video!

I followed the minimalist movement for ages and I still have the itch to declutter even though I've decluttered to the extreme already. Sometimes it's annoying because I need a certain old possession for a current job or hobby and that can lead to frustration. The most part is getting rid of stuff you don't use, if you use it or display it and it makes you happy then keep it. There's a fine line between hoarders and collectors though so re-evaluating really helps, keep the movement going!

Sentimental stuff used to be hard, but it’s getting better. I started with clothing and have moved on to others things where I purposefully get rid of things that make me feel guilty.

I love that you work with sponsors esp for products as the majority of YouTubers I follow are female and outside of them creating gift guides, it's rare for them to have a product for men. This helps find quality brands that I've never heard of that are made for men and being shown by a man!

Just decluttered my large crockpot. I used to use it weekly but now I literally use it one time a year and I could use my instinstapot for that one purpose.

I’ve done the house except the sewing room 🤦🏼‍♀️ I started last week and it’s hard. I keep the fabric scraps to make more quilts. I have enough fabric to open a fabric shop. (Well maybe not it just seems it) I have fabric in there from 1991… maybe it’s time to let some go.
I have saved end pieces of batting to make table runners….. I’ve made maybe 4 table runners in my life. All that batting is going!!!!
Thanks to you snd other you tubers I’m learning to “Let it go!”

I am actively making efforts to lose holiday weight, so I'm not getting rid of a huge portion of my wardrobe. I did weed out a pair of jeans with a huge hole in the left knee along with a pair of jeans that hasn't fit for over a year. I've been decluttering for years. This year I'm organizing what is remaining and doing no spend months. I'm also looking to weed a few items out...like towels (already at the SPCA) for the dogs and cats.

I like that you talk about taking time to re-evaluate our routines because we can all fall into patterns that might not be best for us. I really enjoy my skincare routines. I've been taking care of my skin since my 20's, with the most important being sunscreen (worn daily.) At almost 60, people tell me I look like I'm in my 40's!! My issue is family heirlooms. They are beautiful and valuable pieces that I've been slowly giving away to my family. I'm saving the rest to give my grandchildren, pieces of jewelry etc. Of course, I didn't spend any money on these, so they aren't going anywhere!

Big declutter done. Now on to sewing room and smaller areas. Cookbooks n recipes for example. Tons of pics of family. Going on a zip drive I think.

Gabe, I have a challenge for you. I really want to declutter my home and slow down my shopping habits. I feel in most areas it is possible. But.. I have a lot of craft interests which means lots of stuff. Do you have any strategies for the “crafter” HELP! Thank you! You are a brilliant young man.

Im going through a weight gain and trying to lose the weight, but I know Im not gonna get back to pre-college me (i just graduated) because I was in a bad mental space... yet I keep the clothes that fit me well then in case I go back to being that small. If I ever get that size with a positive mindset, I think i deserve to get a new wardrobe anyway since that wonr be for years 😊
