Monster Hunter Rise Console Review - The Final Verdict

Monster Hunter has been on a great run, and it’s great to have another game that knows well why it works and emphasizes that as much as possible. Rise is as accessible and enjoyable as World, if not as content-rich, but it takes what made the formula work and continues pushing it forward.

Not everything works perfectly, but for a game that has so firmly created a unique identity, Monster Hunter Rise provides some of the most rewarding, fun core gameplay the genre has offered to date.

“The return of wyvern riding” but this is the first game that features wyvern riding. I assume they’re conflating mounting and wyvern riding which are similar but different mechanics.

It's weird that the monsters in yout footage are mostly the small fry.

Really like that player characters has dialogue during hunts, not sure on the story mode. Probably going to try this soon.

I played monster hunter world and just couldn’t get into the gameplay loop and I’m pretty sure it will be the same for this as well. But it’s cool to see everyone so excited for this game and I hope everyone enjoys it.🙂

I have well over 2700 hours in Monster Hunter World on my MR999 character, so I'm looking forward to this..
The only gripe I have is the extremely small lobbies of 4 players and I really hope they'll increase those to at least 16 players.

Gotta make a correction on two things.
1. Wyvern Riding is new to Rise maybe it was mistaken with mounting???

2. Palicos was not introduced in MH World

I just found out that this was released for PS4. Is it similar to MHW? I love that game and put hundreds of hours into it. If the combat and progression system in this game are similar to MHW, I’m buying this game tonight. Also, can you play the entire game solo? Thank you!

Edit: Sorry, are there still the classic 14 or whatever weapons available? I want to play the songs of my people on the HH.

Have the game on Switch..played a couple hundred hours on it..even bought the expac but I just can’t seem to find joy in it. Mainly I think it’s because it’s on the Switch. Does the PS4 version actually feels better to play?

How long does the tutorial last. Gone roughly a hour and no real fights yet? I’ve soled all of MHW and IB arch tempered and everything else. I’m sure the game will get good eventually and hopefully hard but like how much longer do I have to do this terrible stuff before I get to the good. Capcom need to add a option to skip all the basic stuff for people who already know the game series
